EXT A FOREST CLEARING DAY

A boar enters, sniffing for food

Hidden in the brush, Guy draws his pistol, but Wind stops him, and shushes him- Wind rushes from the brush and throws the spear- The boar lies dead as the men go to it

GUY

Great throw Wind! Oh man.

You could throw in the Olympics!

As they reach for the boar, an arrow swooshes from the side

and enters Guy

Wind looks up to see Dom, with radiation burns and a bow

He grabs the pistol and fires it- Dom flees into the woods

EXT JOHN’S HUT DAY

Wind returns with the boar and weeping

JOHN

Wonderful! A boar!

What’s wrong my son?

Where is your friend?

INT JOHN’S HUT DAY

The men are eating the boar- Wind is still grieved

JOHN

Yes, yes. I may be able

to help you Wind- but you

must have faith- I’ve

had other visitors like

you- from other places

And other times-

And I’ve prayed for them-

Well- somehow- they leave-

Simply vanish! Most unusual.

Oh- I’m not sure about where

they really go, but I assume

it is in answer to their prayers.

The only alternative is to stay

here- and slowly die.

178.

WIND

Then why you no pray for us before?

- my brother would still be alive!

And- why YOU stay here?

JOHN

I am sorry I didn‘t tell you.

I only wanted you to get us

some food- then I was going

to help you get home…

As for me, although I seem to

have the power to help others

leave- I am stuck here myself.

Perhaps it is where God wants me-

Perhaps it is because there’s no

one to pray for me…

John and Wind then prays in visual and he disappears

EXT DRUID CAMP- NOW AT STONEHENGE NIGHT

Wind is suddenly back at a slightly different Druid camp

Now at the STONEHENGE composed of rock

He sees Dom cornered, this time by a huge wolf

Wind has a brief moment to decide, then draws back behind a hut- and does not help draw the wolf away from Dom

Dom is attacked by the wolf,

EXT A DIFFERENT CAMPFIRE SITE DAY

A small group is seating itself- The Chinooks are absent

Wind then sees traces of a modern society around the camp

Pieces of metal are now used as spear points, old cans, etc.

Some of the tribe members have a very mild radiation poisoning

AMAN

How did you forget my son?

Dove missing- five nights now.

We find footprints

by big tree in forest-

But we no find her-

Your mother sick with fear

Now Dom is dead- and you sick too

Oh great gods- Have mercy on us!

WIND

Then father- How these big

stones get here- in OUR camp?

179.

AMAN

It where we always live.

Why you ask such a thing Wind?

This jour-ney you talk of?

May be it all just bad dream-

Be cause you sick! You here now

like always- Home!

WIND

Yeah, yeah I home

(Hugs Judah)

There no place like home!

INT WIND’S HUT NIGHT

Wind awakens to harp strain’s

He leaves Judah sleeping and leaves the hut

EXT OUTSIDE THE CAMP NIGHT

Wind follows the harp sound and arrives at a big tree where the angel plays the harp again- Wind watches alone

EXT AT THE ANGEL’S TREE DAY

Wind cuts into the tree with a primitive axe

EXT DRUID FOREST DAY

Wind and Fire emerge from some bushes and chase a boar

Fire throws a spear that goes wide and misses

WIND

Better luck next time, my brother

FIRE

What you mean ’luck’?

WIND

It mean …good hunting,

it is a good thing.

FIRE

So- My brother now makes

up his own words!

180.

EXT CAMP ENTRANCE DAY

As the boys arrive at the camp, they are greeted by Ahman

AHMAN

Wind, Judah having baby!

My grandson!

EXT CAMPFIRE SIGHT DAY

The tribe is sitting to eat

WIND

Yeah- we name her Dove

for my missing sister…

MERRY

My Dove will return to us-

I know it- Now- tonight there

no meade- we have warm soup-

Pea soup. It must do.

WIND

(to Fire)

Is good, no?

FIRE

Yeah Yeah- is … Good luck!

They grin at each other and laugh and Wind slaps Fire on the back

WIND

Now let us go- help

build one of Ahman’s

‘huts of glory’

EXT SAN FRANCISCO STREET CORNER 1967 DAY

The Apostles Peter and John stand on a corner

They are dressed like hippies and have long hair

PETER

Well John, here it is 1967 again-

They’re calling it the

Summer of Love this time around.

181.

JOHN

Yes, but it‘s too bad that

most of these people don’t know

There was an Apocalypse!

They’re always so anxious to

keep repeating the pattern.

PETER

All these people being passed over

by the angel of death- and they

don’t even keep that holy day now.

JOHN

Yes- Well I hate being buried

in ashes don’t you?

The camera has pulled back to reveal they are standing at the corner of Haight/Ashbury

As they walk away they continue on:

JOHN

So… You think the end will

come again by 2000?

PETER

Only if we’re not vigilant.

We must press for peace on earth.

But don’t worry- it will come again

THE TWO SAY IN UNISON (with disgust): IT ALWAYS DOES!

INT COFFEE HOUSE 1967 NIGHT

Dove and Ian (Sun) are there with their instruments getting ready to perform- Dove has young Sun, and some hippies are with them

IAN

So this is the big time.

I thought by now I’d be

touring large venues-

Perhaps I should have signed on

with Capstan and Empire…

If the AMA didn’t pester you

so much we could probably make

a living healing the sick…

182.

DOVE

I no like to take… the… money-

Healing gift is from goddess!

A male friend says that there is no more place for the couples folksy tunes

FRIEND

Hey man- While you still

play that acoustic, and

your old lady strums that harp,

The rest of the rock world

Has turned to hard rocking…

Jamming and tempo, my friend-

Psychedelia! That’s what’s

selling these days…

He takes a drag on a joint someone hands him, and hands it back

FRIEND

(coughing)

No man- No mas. No mas.

Ay, mi ojos! I can’t even see!

Dove hands her small child over to one of the hippy women (FAY) to look over

FAY

You know Dove- it’s funny

how your boy looks so much

like Ian- When you two hadn’t

even met when you got pregnant-

So just who is little Sun’s father,

Dove? Anyone we know from

your mysterious past?

Dove just turns away and smiles a knowing smile while the others look at each other and smile knowing smiles as well

FRIEND

You know- I couldn’t

believe it when Ian took her on-

Especially just when it looked

Like his career was taking off-

But they look happy together now-

So maybe you should just

love the one you’re with!

183.

His dog runs up and licks him in the face

FRIEND

Yo Sanchez!

INT DRUID HUT- YEARS LATER NIGHT

It is during a storming tempest- Dee, in priestly garb, is finishing a prayer. The young children of the tribe ask an aged Wind to them the story of the ancient war between the Gods where the thunderstorms all began

They watch wide-eyed as Wind talks

WIND

And when all the god‘s fight-

They threw fire and lightning

at each other- And whole world

Shake and boom- and everybody die!

That why we have thunderstorm now-

to remind us how terrible war is…

AUDIO TRACK- “ISN’T LIFE STRANGE?” (MOODY BLUES)

Ian watches a news report of the war while Dove looks at a

book with pictures of primitive people

“Isn’t life strange? A turn of the page,

Can read like before, can we ask for more?”

Wind is making crude drawings in a stone cavern

“Each day passes be, how hard man will try,”

Dissolve to sea and then to nuclear blast

“The sea will not wait, You know,

it makes me want to cry, cry, cry”

(Flashbacks from previous scenes)

“Wished I could be in your heart,

To be one with your love,

Wished I could be in your eyes,

Looking back, there you were,

And here we are.”

Wind walks through the Stonehenge camp where he comes upon

some boys fighting and breaks them up- He enters his hut where Judah lies sick with a fever. He hugs her in his arms

184.

“Isn’t love strange, a word we arrange

With no thought or care

Maker of despair, each breath that we breathe

With love we must weave, to make us as one

You know it makes me want to cry, cry cry”

Repeat refrain: “Wished etc.”

Flashbacks of Judah/ Judith/ Judy

On a drizzling day, Judah is buried

Wind tosses in dirt and walks away as others cover her over

“Isn’t love strange, a turn of a page

A book without light

unless with love we write

To throw it away, to lose just a day

The quicksand of time,

You now it makes me want to cry, cry cry

Refrain repeats

“Wished I could be in your heart

To be one with your love… etc.”

Wind is by the creek reminiscing- he goes alone into the woods and uncovers the Hearpe from beneath a rock ledge covered with foliage-He plays it crudely by himself- as camera dollies back slowly, DISSOLVE TO:

INT COFFEE HOUSE NIGHT

Sun and Dove perform together on stage at the coffee house

We see the performers, then faces of the audience

Then the performers at the Admiral Benbow and audience

Then those at the Brown Derby

When they finish as the song fades out- Dove gives the new peace sign, holding out her hand and opening her palm-

DOVE

PEESE!
